OK, I admit it, I'm a newbie, but I've been reading this forum, browsing sprint.com, and visiting the Sprint store but still don't have a good answer.
The short version of what I want to know is if it possible to tether to a PC using a Sprint Vision (not PowerVision) phone with the $15/month Sprint PCS Vision Pack. (I saw a post to that effect on this site.)
I was originally looking at Power Vision with the $40/month unlimited plan, however I primarily want to get this phone for data access on a long trip I am taking soon and my destination does not have EVDO support. So why pay for Power Vision when I won't be able to take advantage of it?

I have the $15 Sprint Unlimited Vision Pictures Pack. On rare occasions (such as vacation), I tether my laptop to my older non-PowerVision Sanyo PM-8200 via USB cable.
When I originally got the Unlimited Vision Pictures Pack, there was no explicit limitation on tethering a laptop to a phone (this was when they were pusing people to buy the PCMCIA connection cards if they wanted Internet access...at like $89/month!!!). I've never had a problem with being charged extra as my usage is limited.
I will say, using "old" Vision for tethering is dog slow. But, if you need to check email or find out directions and you aren't in a rush, it works great. :)
