Anyone have so time to help me perform so testing on my ringtone wap website? I have a ringtone site but for some reason the wap part for phones doesn't seem to work correctly on sprint based phones. I tworks fine with tmobile which I have but in order to better server individuals with sprint phones I need some testers. anyone interested? if so PM me. it would mostly involve just checking the site every so often to see if you can access it with your phone.

FYI.. for newers phones u dont need to make a WAP website.. it can be just plain HTML :) so a good idea would be making a home page, and have 2 links: WAP version, and HTML version.. i'm also making a 3GP website where i will put a bunch of videos and stream them over my pc.. (i just got hooked with Mac OS X Tiger Server, which comes with Quicktime ready to stream :D :D but haven't tried it yet..)
i'll let ya'll know when it's up and running :)

Actually, to download on Sprint, they HAVE to be WML... which is basically WAP. You can write HTML, but you can't download directly to your phone with it--which, from the OP's post, is what I gather he's trying to do. You can do the 2 versions, but it would have to be like Don & Louie's sites were: an HTML site for you to download the files to your computer and then upload them yourself to your phone, and then a WAP site to download from Vision to your phone directly.

Yah wap was not very well thought up and Im sure there will eventually be something that will take its place. I used to sell sprint, nextel, alltel, tmobile, and cellularone phones and therefore have had a great deal of experience with what will work with what. my wap site is set up to do either or (wap or HTML) based on the phone specs and the service. The problem is sprint and the way they do things. The rumor is, sprint changed so stuff up to try to eliminate users from going to 3rd party applications to make an attempt to make users buying from them. This just creates more firey rings for a programmer to jump through.
SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
