Wirelessly posted (Palm Treo 650: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)

I don't think CDMA phones can be unlocked .... as far as I know it's a GSM privilege and since sprint uses cdma I doubt there is such a thing as srint treo unlocked

Actually you can unlock CDMA phones to use as prepay or on Verizon's network I know for sure.
My friend had a Toshiba 4050 on her Verizon account so we could have matching phones.

Well that confuses Me because I know she had a Sprint branded Toshiba on a Verizon account and the other dude at My job has a Sprint phone on Virgin Mobile's network...

sprint and verizon both use cdma technology so technically I guess it was possible to use sprint ESN on verizon network.. but I don't think it's common practice as far as sprint phone on a virgin mobile network goes then it really simple given the history of the two.... - virgin mobile uses sprint pcs network and when sprint gave up on its own prepaid service they allowed a bunch of their sprint branded phones to be flashed over to virgin... it went on for a short period of time but then virgin mobile stopped it due to some technical reasons....so whoever was able to switch to virgin from sprint at the time they were able to activate their esn numbers with virgin services...its not the case now... if u call virgin now with your sprint phone they will deny you service with it and will offer to buy one of their phones instead... a true unlocked phone is the one that u can take to any carrier even abroad as long as its GSM system and they use sim cards that u can change in the phone instead of CDMA ESN numbers provided the gsm frequency of the service provider is compatible with those of the unit itself...
