I saw where 2 folks got brand new ones but that was months ago. I have only dropped my 9000 4 or 5 times since I got it in Dec. I keep a case on it too so no major damage looking at it. My brothers looks like a cat got a hold to it because he answered a call while phone was not in case it slipped out of his hand and down the incline on his driveway. He will never baby that phone like he did before now. Kinda like your car after it is wrecked.
Hope you got a back up or something until it gets there I have my 5600 on standby I can't go without service I have no landline.

it might be covered under ESRP if you have it!
take it to the store first <3
Wirelessly posted (Treo 650: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows 98; PalmSource/hspr-H102; Blazer/4.0) 16;320x320)
if its still under warranty all you gotta do is take it to any sprint store, tell them your problem and they will give you another phone (all shiny and brand new looking and acting- yes it will probably be reconditioned, but it looks and acts brand new and comes with a full warranty). I dropped my treo 650 like 5 times (on rocky gravel concrete) and badly scratched the front and the back (i hated looking at my phone after that, I like my stuff to look new and shiny). Anyways noticed I was getting sh*tty battery life (only like 2 or 3 hrs) so I took it to a sprint store and told the lady about the battery life (i was telling the truth) and she ordered me another Treo 650 and it came with a 1 year warranty (tight). Got my new celly in like 4 or 5 days and the bad boy was all shiny and brand new looking, in the plastic and had the new Sprint Nextel logo on it to. I aint payin' lockline a nickel (unless my phone is lost or destroyed). That's the only good thing bout sprint. They still suck though. Funny cuz it turned out that Chatter was the reason my battery was draining so fast (trouble authenticating account repeatedly causing battery drainage due to constrant transmitting). Anyways head to your sprintNextel store, and get yo free replacement. nuff said.

I got my 9000 replaced from Lockline. Not that the first one broke but instead I ran it over with my creeper. Lockline gave me a brand spanking new one in the box (Manuals, USB, charger, headphones, sd, etc.). This was in March.

Still going strong!! Sanyo makes a durable product I Think anybody can vouch for that! aside from there old problem they fixed thank god! with the newer models! with the hinge getting damaged or cracking and getting loose. :deal:

I had problems with my 7400. I called CS multiple times ,and they finally agreed to replace it, the tech actually made notes saying to give me another 7400 or a 5600. The store offered me an 8300 or a 5500. I said no downgrades. They gave me a 5600 ,the only one in the store, that had been turned in from a customer, but all they did was erase the memory but it still had the old beat up case. The phone works fine, just not as pretty as I keep all of mine. Oh well, it works..

Two days ago, I had a guy come to my Shack to get a replacement for a 7300, and when I asked what happened to his current one he said it fell. When I asked how far it fell, he said "45 feet onto a steel platform. For the THIRD TIME." (This guy does "I" beam welding for a living.) So basicly his 7300 survived 2 falls from 45 feet. When I saw it, it looked well used. The silver paint was completly rubbed off, it was covered with pits from tiny dropplets of molten steel, and the speaker grill was completely covered with tiny beads of steel. Now that is a durable phone. Sadly he needed a new phone immediatly, and all I had as far as an inexpensive durable phone was a 3100. We had sold our last 7300 3 months ago to another guy who just wanted something cheap. Now I wish I had not sold thet other guy the 7300 so I could have given the welder a phone that would last...
I hope you get a new one. When it says refurb its just not the same. Good luck and let us know what you get.
I guess I got lucky with my 7400 re-furb replacement, it was brand new in every way, even had the clear plastic protectors on the inner and outer displays. I was totally happy with it. (till I found the 9000 :hee:)

It's a good thing I said 'yet' about dropping my phone. Just last night at the bar, my phone was sitting on the bar, right in front of me, with the earbud jack plugged into the phone. I was making all kinds of hand gestures as I was talking to my buddy sitting next to me, when my moving arms caught on to the earbud wire, launching my phone from the bar straight to the floor at incredible speed, 3 times as fast as a normal drop. The sound the phone made hitting the floor was so loud my girl heard it, with the jukebox blasting, and she was sitting 2 stools down from me. Man, I was horrified. I immediatly picked it up, the outer display was lit up, I opened the phone, everything seemed ok, I ran to the bathroom where there is more light to give it a good look-over. I can't see the slightest ding, or mark anywhere, and so far, everything works perfect, they no doubt build these phones solid to take that kind of licking, and keep on ticking. I think I'll keep my phone in the holster from now on!

WELL I FINNALY GOT MY PHONE I GUESS THE WAIT WASNT 7 DAYS. There was a hassle picking it up from a UPS location when I waited 3 hours for the truck delivery man to take all day to touch back at base. The phone was a .................. REFURB! :irked: Damn was I mad but it looked perfectly new and still had demo's in the, games, ringers and apps category. SO maybe it has some new tentacies! LOL So far so good the only two problems I have been getting that I didnt recognize with my last 9000 is lag in downloading my picturemail pics. Often times the EVDO bars will freeze up or take forever to give me data or I get the all black JPG with the "X" in it I hate that!!!! so I gotta keep restarting my phone or updating my profile. If anyone knows any other solutions please share the wealth. But what Im curious about is when will they ever do a new firware update?? I think over the air software update is so amazing I know when you guys first did your mm-9000 (mostly people who baught it within the first 3 months) and you did your Firware update it was so cool how the process is. well atleast to me. My second problem that I noticed was when I try to move ahead of a screen meaning pressing a button or option before the screen comes up the phone will restart on its own like it just cant operate when you try to moves at a fast unpatient pace thru menu's before hand I didnt have that problem with my last 9000 well for now I have a fresh lookin 9000 now I gotta sit here and find all my assigned caller ID pics and re enter all my contacts again 289 WHEW I dont have time to go to the sprint store and wait for them to do it and the kiosk were I work dosnt even come close to having a tech room LOL

Select all red x's and post them to service to get thumbnails back. If you have your msl code then you can go to ##3282# and go to multimedia, edit, buffersize and change it to 15. OK it and go to done. It will power cycle and thats it. If your phone keeps power cycling from you going to fast then I would do a reflash by calling *2. Congrats on the replacement!

Sorry I wasnt more specific. The select pictures, post to service, update is on your phones menu. Nothin special there, that was to get your thumbnails visible again. Changing the phones buffersize I just decided to try cause I havent heard of anyone trying it. It made my 2 9000's functions faster. I suggested this cause you said you had to kind of slow down or your phone would power cycle.

You can STILL find the Sanyo mm9000 at Radio SHack stores, now please note that if you hunt for it on the website you will not find it, HOWEVER some stores still have a few. go to radioshack.com and click on store locator, then enter your zipcode and a list of stores in your area will come up, CALL the stores and ask if they have it. I found two of them in my area and bought them both, some stores are even closing as in my area so I bought a new sanyo mm9000 for 40 percent off normal price!!
Also while yo are there, radio shack sells some grip pads that you can apply to your phone that gives is a much better grip so it wont slide out of your hands.
GOOD LUCK, you may have to do some driving but search your area or expand to other nearby cities, you WILL find one but you will have to do your homework and make some phone calls.

Grip pads? Are these for the 9000 specifically or is it a 'one size fits all' deal.

no they are not made for the sanyo specifically but you get a pak of the Ez grips pads several of serveral different sizes so you can use them on the front back and sides of the phone, different colors too, they really make a difference and only cost a few dollars I highly recommend them. You could also trim them to whatever size or shape that you wanted. I think they are called Ez grips.

Never mind, I found the phone you're talking about, and I must say, from what I saw and read about the phone so far, well, I'm pretty impressed! Looks very interesting, hopefully Sprint decides to go for it. Damn, maybe a Samsung will return to my pouch after all........ yet another wait and see game.
