Hi there everyone. I desperately need a new phone (still have the 8100!) and was looking on Sprint's site and see that the 8300 is not there anymore. Does anyone have any insight on this? Does that mean that something new is just around the corner?

It could mean 1 of 2 things.

1 the phone is out of stock for there online store

or

2. The phone has been discontinued.

If you really want the phone it should still be available at most stores, and at most radioshacks

Good I hope it's been discontinued!

Ah well. It always seemed like the oddity in Sprint's lineup. Wonderful replacement for the 8200 though, but the styling left me cold. It's.... plainly... a boring looking phone. The 8100 and 8200 weren't the most exciting, but were in no way as bad as this one.

Good phone though! Great reception, solid software, great build quality and sturdy..

I talked to someone at Sprint yesterday while selling a 8300 and they said the 8300 and the 7500 have both been discontinued.

WHAT?!?!? 7500 discontinued?

Time to get rid of it then! :D I've only had it 6 months, and I believe it's only been on the market for 7!

this thread has alotta disco/replacement handsets' dates

this might be why the 8300 is free right now through RS on new activations after $50 mail in rebate. no wonder why a few weeks ago my store had 8 blue 6 red and 4 silver and we shipped about half to stores in FL from here in KY alotta our 8300s. so that all the stores could have some 83s for the big sale thats goin on i reckon.

the 8300 is not that bad. its really underated, its basically a 7400 in the body of modified 8200.
