It hasn't changed. I won't be biased about it. You can do your own research. You will find that Sanyo handsets have better reception, stay off the charger longer and will be more reliable then a Samsung. Now Sanyo's appearance many not be as flashy as a Samsung but most of us prefer quality over that. Good luck.

i have always used samsung(last samsung was a 920) and when i got my first sanyo(9000) i was like wooww. :ohcrap: better reception, faster, and not pic mail bugs, louder speaker. however, samsung does look nice.

I don't understand why people say samsung has nicer looking phones.....?

Personally I think most every samsung I've seen has been pretty freakin' ugly compared to sanyo, sony, nokia, hell even lg.....

There's just something I don't like about samsung, they look cheap, work cheap, and in general are cheap. I've never once touched a samsung that I liked, either the ergonomics were bad, sound quality horrible, or there were so many bugs in the ui I wanted to throw it out the window. I've never once enjoyed making a call from any of the numerous ones I've touched. I may have a past littered with sanyos and nokias, but I most certainly am not a FANBOY.

All I'm looking for in a phone is an easy to manage size that is ergonmical, has an attractive eye-catching design; the form factor is unimportant (slider, flip, swivel, etc) as long as it functions well, has good reception, sound quality, and a simple ui with all the features I expect any moblie to have; >1mp camera, >2gb removable storage, >QVGA screen, >evdo, >mp3 & mpeg capability, full duplex speakerphone, bt, intelligent T9, java, push2talk, and all the other necesities. Is that so much to ask?

While there is not a clear winner out there yet, my personal opinion is that samsung is not even in the top 5 phone manufacturing companies that have attempted; all of their attempts have been half-baked at best.

I prefer Sanyo over Samsung. My first 3 phones were Sanyo and NEVER had a single problem with any of them. After owning a MM5600, I was looking at a 9000 but realized that it was too similiar. So I bought a A900, this phone is extremely buggy, the reception isn't as great. But it does make up for it in features.

Hopefully the Katana is up to par with the A900, so I can jump back to Sanyo.

You are the biggest bias assclown on these forums. Give me a break.

With Sanyo, you get old recycled designs, poor fit and finish, unrefined UIs, no bluetooth, no external media controls, no innovative form factors, no multi megapixel, no oled, no large 2.2" qvgas, no slim, no innovation. You get recycled garbage comming from a company who in 2005 lost close to $1.5 Billion US dollars.

And in case you cared, the A920 is actually being offered while the 9000 went disco months ago due to poor sales. Says a lot.

Hey Tu, this is why Samsung sucks so much. This was your quote over at HoFo. Just proving that Samsung has no clue about what goes on under their own umbrella.

Hasn't your pile A800 been on the Sprint website for years? Don't see anyone breaking down the doors to buy that one. Meanwhile the high end Sanyo's sell out shortly after release. I wonder why that is. Nice try.

Go defend Samsung's bad rap on HoFo. Your not welcome here.

I just tried my first Samsung, a couple of A920s. Neither phone could get reception in my home. Returned it, got a MM-7500, reception is acceptable at home. On the reception front, the Sanyo is miles better than the Samsung. However I do miss bluetooth and removable memory.

Thanks for the laugh, Tutu. Please don't come back. :)

I'm so addicted to Sanyo, I can't justify the purchase of the LG Fusic that I want so badly.

I like the UI, I like the consistency, I like the reliability, I like the reception, and the build quality. Samsung loses on all counts. Sucks to be them.

To put my own two cents in on the matter, Sanyo is rock solid - great UI, good features, excellent reception; although admittedly only fair when it comes to form factor design innovation.

However there are many loyal Samsung users, and if you are searching for a phone with Bluetooth or a flashy look, you probably won't find what you're looking for with Sanyo. But in overall performance, there is noone who can make an intelligent argument on behalf of Samsung in that respect.

oh,,, recycled garbage? let me see how many threads there are about samsung not working right. sure sanyos need a make over, but hey,, if they had bluetooh it would work better than samsung dont you think? or why dont you talk about the camera delay on the 920 and the 900? also, would you mind explaining why samsung released a buggy phone(pic mail bug, s@#ty bluetooh(on most 900), and the phantom ringer.) and would you call a SLOOWW menu a feature on samsungs phone?. now for all the 900 ownwers, im not bashing your phone, if you dont have a buggy samsung consider yourself lucky. i would gladly go back to samsung if all bugs are worked out, but for now ill keep my brick phone :headbang2 and be a sanyo fanboy :D

Are you stupid? The 9000 is not sold anymore because Sprint discontinued it. It had nothing to do with "selling out". If that were the case, it would still be selling; you think that Sanyo can't make any more? Ridiculous. Nice spin attempt, though you really have no clue what you are talking about.

The A800 remains because it offers the best camera on Sprint, period.

Furthermore, I seem to recall Samsung's revenues and profits outstripping every electronics giant on the globe. I also seem to remember their market cap is over $100 Billion USD, only one of two Asian-based corporations to do so. Obviously, miscommunications between STA and Samsung Electronics had no affect on anything, despite your greatest wishes.

Come to the party with a clue next time.

They were released with those issues to make it in time for the booming holiday season. With the addition of FOTA, they were resolved, and the A900 still continues to sell more than any Sanyo EV-DO phone ever has.

Kinda depends what you want. If Bluetooth is on your wishlist then forget Sanyo. If you want ready link then forget Samsung.

IMO Sanyo has better reception and they tend to be less "buggy." Samsung's UI is a little better and the earpiece sounds noticibly better - but not better enough to make me trade in my 7400 for one. In all fairness to Samsung, they have come a long way in the last five years. It's all subjective though. My advice is still to find the phone that has the features you want and then try it for 14 days.

SprintUsers.com was created in January 2002 as a resource for users of Sprint PCS products and services to learn about and share information. We have cll phone reviews, Cellular Accessories, Downloads, PDA reviews, Ringtones, all of the latest Sprint PCS news and information, an area where you can find help in creating a ring tone or custom image for you phone, and so much more. The most popular section is the message board where visitors can read and write messages, ask questions, and get advice about their cellular phone from other users.
