Hey guys I just got my 9000 a couple of days ago and this is my first Sanyo phone and had a question. Whenever I close the phone and I'm not on the "homepage" it gives me a "operating" note on the small external lcd. Is there any way for it to just terminate all applications or open folders upon closing the phone? I looked but no luck. Thanks to all!

press END before you close the phone is about the best you can do

this is actually a feature to me, but to each their own

May want to end the session anyway. It's a battery killer.

J, love the new avatar. I miss my 5500.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/4.0 (MobilePhone MM-9000/US/1.0) NetFront/3.1 MMP/2.0)

i love how you can close the flip without it ending the thing you were last working on

Yea its great, cause lets say you are surfing the web and then someone comes up to talk with you. you politely close up your phone to talk with them and after the convo, open up the screen and you are right where you left off...great stuff

miss my 5500 also...the longest i have ever kept a phone, 1.5 years...if it had evdo and BT, it would be the BEST, IMO

yea the sanyos rock with bein able to keep games and vision and ringers goin. the samsungs killed all that when you closed the phone. stick with sanyos, ive had 3 sanyos, and 1 samsung now. vm4500, 8300, a920, back to 9000.

I also see this as a feature, nothing better than getting interupted in a data session or game and have the phone loose what you were doing when you're done with the call.

I actually don't think it's much of a battery killer, if the phone isn't open the screen isn't on, and if ur not using the application actively it can't be using much processing power...

Yea this 5500 is great, I'm using it for voice while my 9K still has data provisioned. :headbang2 Best of both worlds. Now I need to get a digicam and get both phones in that pic.

for real, samsung should take a hint from sanyo in this department. people don't want to lose what they're doing just cause the phone gets closed.

IS the 7500 the replacement for the 9000? If not what is or can the 9000 still be found?

The 7500 is the replacement for the 7400. The 9000 can be found but you'll need to look hard. Fry's Electronics and some Radio Shacks my have them. The ones I've checked don't have them though.

My 5500 had over 55,000 minutes on it. What a great phone. If it had PV I would still be using it.

This is the main feature 4 me. This is why i took back both the A900 and A920 and went to radioshack and bought the 9000. I hated the A800, because every time i was using the web and i accidently slided the phone do it disconnted me. The 535 did not do that i think.

the 5600 is the same way as the 9k, flip it closed, says operating, and just saves what you were doing. it is a nice little feature in case you accidentally close it as well.

there is a feature called "return to idle" in the settings. if you return to idle, the screen will clear after a few moments.
