Stronger IR beamer, and possibly (If it's possible to shrink the circuitry down to size) an XM Radio tuner. FM tuner is probably acceptible for those times that hurricanes wipe out my power. Again. ;)

why do we need any FM or xm or AM or sirius radios in it? only if it comes with the satelite radio subscription, otherwise it's useless hardware that would be better served as an SDIO expansion card :)
but whatever.

I'd love to see the Palm OS replaced with an updated WM OS!

True about the sat radio tuner, I forgot it can be done with software.
A hardware FM tuner would be cool, though. It came in really handy during the hurricane season of '04, but that's just where I live. :)
Forgot to mention that I'd really want all the things in the first post as well. :)

Why ask for peoples opinions, then turn around and tell them it would be a worthless inclusion...

An internal antenna. If they continue to keep this outdated "feature" why not add a cassette player as well?

Yes! I would want an internal antenna more than anything else. It would also be hot if it came in black.

cobalt is dead, it will never be lisenced, palm said they modified garnet enough to get where they wanted with cobalt. Look for ALP (Access Linux Palm OS)...

Palm's not working on it, it's Access. Palm is a hardware company that has been modifying garnet for too long.

Not completely true. Although Access is workign on ALP that's going to be for the Asian markets. Reportedly Palm itself has been hiring, internally and seperately from Access, software developers who work on Linux to develop a new OS. It was covered on cNet and other news sites awhile ago. This Palm linux will be for the States.

I think WiFi is probably the most popular desire of the 750P... External MP3 buttons would be cool, as well as the internal antenna. Black would be super. Most importantly, I think an update in bundled software, like AIM Mobile instead of buying it, and any other real Palm necessities to be included. Charging $600 for it should certainly warrant a little perk.

Let me just say that after greatly anticipating the 700p, I've come to the realization that Palm doesn't change anything unless they have to. The only real reason they released the 700p was because of Ev-DO. If you look at the 650 and the 700p, what dramatic changes are there? Ev-DO, better camera, and more memory. They didn't really add any new features, because most of the stuff the 700p can do, the 650 can do also. Why didn't they add wifi, BT 2.0, and a whole assload of other features that would make any tech geek/smartphone crackhead wet their pants? Because the Treo will sell without wifi. It'll sell without BT 2.0. It'll sell without a better screen. Palm is trying to sell as many Treos as possible, not be a pioneer in the smartphone market (unfortunately, the only devices advancing technology and features wise are the WM devices, leaving PalmOS users in the stone ages). For that reason, most of the features you've listed probably won't happen. BT 2.0 might happen (although the 700p should have had that), but by that time, BT 3.0 will probably be out.
That being said, the only things i'd want from the new treo are some kind of wifi (built in or via a SDIO wifi card), a more interesting UI (or better yet, a new OS), and support for basic features that many cheaper phones come with (like native mp3 and video ringtone support, built in voice dialing, etc). After spending $650 + tax on a phone, having to pay another $20 to be able to use MP3's as ringtones is ridiculous (although they did better by supporting AAc ringtones on the 700p). Not being able to do voice dialing is even worse, especially when they sell the 700w, which is capable of some of the simple features people complain about on the 700w (wifi, voice dialing, mp3 ringtones, and there's probably some others i can't think of)
EDIT: Oh, and they should also make Treo faceplates, that would be pretty cool....
Jog my memory again please- Why do we desperately need WiFi?
we don't, but we want it cause we're just That Way™
also need I remind you the only differences between the 600 and 650 were even more minor, addedb luetooth, made the keys not in straight lines, and changed the way the memory worked and changed the screen a bit. IMO the change from 650 to 700 is more major given that the camera is MUCH higher resolution, EV-DO! FAT32 SD card support, bluetooth 1.2 (MUCH improved for nearly everyone who's used it)
these updates are more major than any RAZR updates, so I don't see all the *****in. *** people.
also, PALM released it becase they can make more money ;)
Jog my memory again please- Why do we desperately need WiFi?
Because if you don't live in an Ev-DO area...
or better yet, if you live in an Ev-DO area, but you don't have a signal....
Or simply because it would be nice if I could be in my room and be able to stream music/videos/get files/hotsync/ wirelessly.... yes I know you can stream with orb, but it would be quicker and better quality with a local connection than a WAN connection... It would also be nice if I could be on the phone and surf the web/check my email at the same time (yes that would eat battery, but that's the user's decision to make. Although I don't think PalmOS can even support phone and wifi at the same time, that's probably why the Treo's don't even have SDIO wifi). It's just a convenience factor...I mean, if I spend $650 + tax on a brand new 700p, why can't I get online with wifi like the 6700 and Treo 700w (SDIO wifi card) can do?
