Sprint appears to be saying Yes, We Can to rate increases. This hike will affect the early termination fee for both CDMA and iDEN customers. The ETF will be increased from $150 to $200, effective May 21st.
Sprint PCS customers who sign a contract before 5/21 will be grandfathered into the existing ETF of $150. However, Nextel customers will be automatically increased to $200. This segregation of customers appears to create a possible material change in the provisions of Nextel customers, and will likely create a controversial situation. Sprint may be required to release Nextel customers sans-ETF for the very reason of increasing the ETF.

:ohcrap: Thats pretty ballzy increasing the ETF for existing IDEN customers. I think thats going to end up nipping them in the butt. Unless their TOS specifically mention that.

i think they went down along with sprint, because sprint was also 200 and it went down to 150. alot of people must be leaving sprint/nextel and they dont want to lose anymore customers

Well it's like I've always said... Research what your buying, and pay your bills. The likelihood you would run into a ETF is remote at best...

I've noticed the new ETF charge listed on their TV commercials too! Interesting!

actually, for sprint and nextel users the ETF increases apply only to accounts created from 15/05/2006 and on. Anyone that created there's prior is not affected
