Blackberry Torch 2 and LG Optimus Slider coming to Sprint

By: t-marco June 7th, 2011

Thanks to Crackberry, Sprint will get 3 news phones soon. The first is the Blackberry Torch 2 aka BB 9850 , which is possibly a CDMA version of the Torch 9810.  Another phone is the BlackBerry Bold Touch 9930, which appears to be Sprint-bound on August 21st.

Also, we have the LG Optimus Slider LS700 (Gelato Q), most likely the successor to the Optimus S, prepping for a September launch.

Stay tuned for more information.

The “Torch” that is listed on the Sprint SKU is NOT the Torch portrait slider w/qwerty keyboard that At&t has had has an exclusive since last August, and still will be just an At&t exclusive. What is listed on the Sprint SKU list shown is the BB 9850 (monanco) , the upcoming BlackBerry full touchscreen device. Maybe? RIM will brand it as a Torch, but it won’t be the Torch2 GSM device heading to At&t later this year, again it is an At&t exclusive. But better news IMO is the Bold 9930 releasing this summer on Sprint.

Sprint will indeed be getting the Bold 9930 hopefully sooner than the leaked SKU list as 08/21/11, maybe by mid-July. The BB Torch 9850 shown is NOT the Torch or upcoming Torch2 portrait slider w/qwerty keyboard that is exclusive only to AT&T, it is actually the full touchscreen RIM codename “monaco” or some have named “Storm 3″. This may be a typo, or RIM has branded the full touchscreen “Torch”? IMO because of the codenames still listed, (montana for the BB Bold 9930, and monaco for the BB 9850) this Sprint sku list may be older than thought. just my opinion.

I’m sure the BlackBerry Touch (or whatever RIM is finally going to brand it) will be $199.00 new or upgrade eligble and around $499.00 full price. But for me, I’m getting the Bold 9930 as soon as it’s released :)
